26th Run, Cap d'Antibes

The day is just great, cold but great as Wednesday. I set off with 49% battery in my iPhone. Just after 1 kilo, Nike+ has already eaten another 5%. This worries me a little because I was going to run more than 10 kilos today, if the battery runs out like this, it wouldn't be enough.

However, things turned out even worse, the battery continued going down like this until about 5 kilos when it dropped to about 25%, the iPhone just died out. I tried to press the button on top, it gives me the apple, then just nothing happened. Anyway, I continued running, and after a while I pressed the big button again, this time it brought the iPhone back alive, then I found Nike+ was no longer running, I started it again, the workout was still there but was paused, so I restarted it but just after a few seconds, iPhone died out again. Finally, I decided to not let it bother me any longer, I just restarted iPhone and did not restart the Nike+, at least it gives me time.

So again, I finished a run without completely recorded data (I do have data before the first time that iPhone died ), the result is 1 hour and 3 minutes, about 11 kilometers.

Next time, I will make sure to have 100% battery before going out for a run, the battery drops much faster in low temperature!

25th Run, Sophia Antipolis

I forgot to post this run right after it this Wednesday so I post it now. It was a great day, a little bit cold but great.

I went with one of my colleagues, it's his first time after the Christmas vacation, (when people normally eat a lot with no sports :D ) so we started with quite a slow pace, even though, he had to stop 1 kilo before the end, then we started to walk back. Walking while talking in a great mid day sun light is a very pleasant thing.

However, I had a battery problem with my iPhone and it just died out, leaving no chance for the Nike+ to synchronize the data to the server, result: I lost the data of this run.

So here is the result from my memory: 4.6 kilo. 32 minutes.

24th Run, Juan les Pins, Vieille Antibes

It was an excellent day. I went out when the sun is at it's best and enjoyed a run with beach at Juan les pins as well as old buildings at vieille Antibes. I even stopped for five minutes at the vieille Antibes's market looking the old men ans women selling their old things. 7.56km, feeling so relaxed.

23rd Run, Sophia-Antipolis

Today is a great day for running, I've been waiting for a day like this since so long! Warm but not hot, sunny, no wind, air is fresh after the rain...

Two colleagues planned to go with me but finally non of them really went, so I ran alone. This actually gave me an opportunity to discover a new route. And it turned out quite a nice route too. Here is the result:

Also, in the Nike+ Challenge : Defi des regions Francaises, our region finished with the 3rd place, far behind the amazing achievement of Ile de France (Paris region), are the Parisiens all crazy runners or they just have more iPod/iPhone :D, I'm kidding, but seriously, it's amazing achievement, here is the result:

22nd Run, Sophia-Antipolis

Wednesday is back, again! Even the weather is still unfavorable and unpredictable, I was prepared this morning when going out to work, I brought all my stuffs with me so if ever it's not too bad, I would run. Luck seems to be with me, it turned out to be quite a nice moment to run at noon. Also, my team leader went with me. :D

We had a very slow pace because it's his first run after the Christmas vacation and also because he caught a cold yesterday. I wondered why he'd like to run when being ill. He said it helps to recover! It had been quite hard for him and he finally stopped at about 2kilo and ran back the same way. I'd say I really need a lot of courage to go out running when I feel sick.

So here is the result:

As you can see it's in French because I'm here in France and the default language of my iPhone is French so Nike+ GPS follow this setting. If I want to change it back to English, I have to set the language of my iPhone to English. I must say this is NOT convenient. So after I changed to English:

21st Run, First Run 2011!

I'm now fully recovered, finally! It's a good idea to run at new year's day to start this year, no? Also, Nike+ GPS released another update, version 2.3 at 21/12. I upgraded today so I can give it a try. The main feature in this update is actually the multi-language support, for both the text on the GUI and the voice, as said, now it supports Chinese, French, German, Italian...

After update, Nike+ GPS recognizes that I'm in France, it changes the interface to French.

We will visit our friends afternoon so I'll run in the morning. Fortunately, after about two weeks rainy/cloudy days, this morning we saw the sun and it made me really comfortable. However, I didn't run a lot, only 5k, at a pretty low rate. So long I haven't a comfortable run like this, I like the feeling. Here is the result.

Finally, happy new year 2011! And wish everyone run longer and faster and most importantly, enjoy running!
